Keep Your Surrounding Clean by Using Uniquely Designed Outside Ashtrays

The cigarette butt is very small thing for an irresponsible smoker to overlook the consequence of disposing it off anywhere. In the eyes of a smoker, extinguishing it by stomping on the lit butt is the end point of his responsibility. The smoker has contributed his part to the society, ensured that things don’t catch fire. Or he didn’t start a wildfire that would cause massive damage.

Even though the size of a cigarette butt is small, the impact it has on the environment is massive. It lowers the quality of life of a society, and is a predominant part of litter. Throwing away cigarette butts irresponsibly in ground, sewers, waterways instead of an ashtray makes areas less attractive, especially earmarked for recreational purpose. Being responsible to improve the quality of life of the society as a whole is the duty of every individual. If not improve it, assist in maintaining it. Degrading is not acceptable.

One of the major reasons for behaving irresponsibly while disposing cigarette butts is the lack of awareness of the consequences. Degradation takes time as cellulose acetate is a component of 95% of cigarette filters. Also, marine life mistakes it for food which is detrimental to their life.

The major factors cited by smokers are they tend to dispose butts off at a place where a cigarette butt was already on the ground, when in transition points, where a smoker has to extinguish a butt before entering, for e.g. a restaurant. Presence of cigarette bins mounted on adjoining structures, a wall, and a post would aid immensely in curbing the menace of cigarette butt litter.
